Fall into Lush

This Valentines I’m talking all things Lush; or what I have experienced from Lush myself.  If you have not heard of Lush, go ahead and climb out from under your rock now.  If you are the type of person who loves lighting some candles, running a hot bubble bath and reading a good book or maybe watching some Netflix while in the bath…Then Lush is the place for you. Lush is all things bath with some cosmetics mixed in. Lush is the bees knees and you should experience it.
They uses whole fresh ingredients and all their items are handmade as well as vegan. They use organic fruit, veggies, the finest essential oils and safe synthetics. Their ingredients come from companies that do not commission tests on animals.  It is overall just a great company to buy from. You can learn more about Lush here:  Lush's Story

Today I'm going to talk about 2 bath bombs and 1 bubble bar that I purchased from them last month. Let me just tell you... I am in Love!  I got the “Unicorn Horn” bubble bar, ”Space Girl”  and “Phoenix Rising” bath bombs.

The “Unicorn Horn” bubble bar is probably the cutest and funniest bubble bar created.  It is literally a unicorn horn with pastel colors, colorful candy stars and shimmering luster. It has essential oils such as lavender, ylang ylang and neroli.  These essential oils help you feel relaxed and elated. It’s a great bubble bar to use when you just had a very stressful day and you just want unwind. This bubble bar cost $7.95 and you can find it here: Unicorn Horn

The "Space Girl" bath bomb is seriously gorgeous. It has a blast of sparkles, real popping candy inside and leaves a trail of purple and stardust in your bath. It has refreshing grapefruit oil that refreshes and tones your body with a lovely scent of black currant.  You will seriously feel like a “Space Girl” with this one. You can purchase this bath bomb for $5.25 here: Space Girl

Phoenix Rising is the perfect bath bomb to stimulate your tired mind and body; especially on a cold winter or autumn night. The spicy apple and cinnamon scent will leave you feeling warm and relaxed; while the orangey twist lifts your spirits. This bath bomb is royal purple with a dusting of gold shimmer throughout.  It also has a real cinnamon stick in the center. As a phoenix does, this bath bomb sinks straight to the bottom of the bath and then slowly rises to the top.  “Phoenix Rising” is $6.95 and you can purchase it here: Phoenix Rising

Now, find your nearest Lush store or follow the links above and get yourself some bath bombs.  Light some candles turn on your favorite binge watching show or grab a book and allow yourself to relax. You will probably never want to leave your bathtub again. But, if you do you will find yourself more at ease and your body feeling wonderful.

January Favorites

Can we just take a second in “awe” of how quickly January went by! I feel like yesterday we were just celebrating the New Year.  Now it’s February with six more weeks of winter left, and I am okay with that!
Alright, so now that the shock has passed, I thought it would be a good day to sit down and talk about my favorite beauty products for the month of January.  I don't have a lot, but what I do have is probably the products that I would definitely keep as a staple in my makeup collection/routines.

To start it off, I have two mascaras that I absolutely love!
   ·         The Revlon Bold Lacquer by grow luscious mascara ( a volume    and length mascara with bold definition) $7.99
   ·         Lights Camera Lashes by Tarte ( adds volume) $20.00
I’ve tried a lot of mascaras in my days.  It's something I use every day whether  I am wearing a full face of makeup, or not. These two products are pure gold to me. I love the results they give; they are blackest black and no clumping.

The next items I reached for a lot last month are from Nyx;

  ·         The illuminator in Ritualistic; this illuminator is just gorgeous. Need I say more!? A picture doesn't even do it justice.  It’s just one of those products you have to see in person to see its beautifulness. $8.99
   ·   The Dream Catcher Palette “Dusk til Dawn”. If you're looking for a great drugstore eyeshadow palette, I'd say this is the one. I just love the neutral shades in this palette. They are super “velvety” and have good pigmentation. This palette comes with two matte shadows and eight shimmery shadows. You can't go wrong with the price of this pallette. $14.99

Now if you haven't heard of the brand Milani , grab your car keys, get in your car and drive to your nearest Kroger/Walgreens/CVS and grab a bunch of their products! For the price, you will not be disappointed. They just recently came out with a new line of color statement moisture lipsticks in matte finish; $5.99. These come in eight gorgeous colors; Matte Innocence (pinky nude), Matte Naked (medium nude), Matte Blissful ( blush pink), Matte Orchid ( fuchsia), Matte Glam ( grape purple), Matte Passion ( red with orange undertones), and Matte Confident (Brick Red). Now, let me just contain my excitement for a second here…. These matte lipsticks are amazing.  Super pigmented, matte and moisturizing.  The color I was reaching for and wearing a lot last month was the color "Blissful". I just love these lipsticks!

And finally, last but not least the next product that I absolutely love is the Anastasia Brow Wiz.  Twenty one dollars seems like a lot of money when it comes to a brow pencil, however after hearing a lot...(and I mean almost every beauty guru out there talk about this brow pencil) I knew I had to bite the bullet, spend the money and try out this "supposedly" great product. Obviously, since I am mentioning it in this post, I now know what all the hype was about. To me personally, it was worth every pretty penny!

See, that wasn't a lot. If you made it to the end, thanks for sticking around and I hope you enjoyed reading what my favorite beauty products were for the month of January.

The name is Melinda and I’m going beauty!

A little about me:

I’m 25 years old, married; I have a cat named Alaska Bentley and a pug named Jasper (aka Jazz).  As any girl does, I have an obsession with makeup and pretty much anything beauty related.  Now if I’m going to be completely honest my obsession didn’t really start until the beginning of last year. It all started while I was sitting at my computer and browsing through YouTube. I then found Nicole Guerriero, Jaclyn Hill and Kathleen Lights. From there it all went downhill? Uphill? One of the two.

I really enjoy watching beauty gurus and reading blogs. So I decided to give it a shot myself. I am by no means a professional when it comes to beauty or blogging.  Basically this will be like my diary with posts about beauty and will be available for the world to read; in hopes that we (you the reader and me the blogger) will learn something throughout the days.

With that being said, here are some posts that you can look forward to for your reading pleasure:

  • Monthly Favorites
  • New products
  • Reviews and
  • First Impressions
  • Collective hauls.

Thrown in there will be some swatches, top ten Holy Grail brands/products, routines, products to try and more fun things of the sorts.

So, if you are still here, thanks for stopping by! I hope that you will follow me daily on my journey into the beauty world!
